Personal Property

Student Property: Damage and Theft

Resident Students

The University is not responsible for the personal property of students, their family members, or their guests.  This includes items delivered to the University on a student’s behalf, property in storage areas located throughout University buildings such as bike storage rooms.  The University strongly recommends that all residential students procure personal property insurance to protect their property from loss or damage.  Personal property left after a residential student has vacated their room will be considered abandoned and will be discarded.

Non-Resident Students

Compensation for loss or damage to personal property of non-resident students off campus, on campus, or while participating in Suffolk University programs is not a University responsibility. Individuals desiring such protection must make arrangements for necessary coverage at their own expense.
