ROTC

Suffolk University offers students the opportunity to participate in both Army and Air Force ROTC programs, providing leadership training and career preparation in the armed forces and beyond.

Army

The Liberty Battalion is the Army ROTC program at Northeastern University, established in 1951 to train and commission U.S. Army officers. It collaborates with nearby institutions like Boston College, Simmons University, and Suffolk University, supporting around 120 cadets. The program focuses on leadership development, military skills, and academic excellence to prepare cadets for service.

Air Force

Air Force ROTC Detachment 355, hosted by Boston University, trains and commissions officers for the U.S. Air Force and Space Force. The program partners with several local institutions, including Boston College, Northeastern University, and the University of Massachusetts Boston, offering students from these schools the same ROTC training and experience. Cadets participate in leadership training, mentorship, and academic courses, preparing them for service as commissioned officers upon graduation.
