Housing Guarantee

Incoming Freshman (first time in college)

Incoming freshmen (first time in college) for the fall semester are guaranteed two years of University-sponsored housing provided they deposit by May 1 and meet the returning student housing deadline for their second year.

Incoming freshman (first time in college) for the spring semester are guaranteed University-sponsored housing for the spring semester and the following academic year provided they deposit by January 1 and meet the returning student housing deadline for the following second year.

Transfer Students

Housing availability for transfer students depends on space availability in a given year. For 2025-2026: incoming transfer students for the Fall 2025 semester are guaranteed two years of University-sponsored housing provided they deposit by May 1 and meet the returning student housing deadline for their second year.

Other Details

University-sponsored housing assignments and information about roommate(s) will be communicated in July for those entering in the fall and in January for those entering in the spring.

We expect to have housing availability in 2025-2026 for students who are not covered by the incoming freshman housing guarantee. Details about housing availability and waitlists (if needed) will be conveyed in February 2025.

Mid-semester housing: at times, a limited amount of beds may open during the weeks after the semester begins. Non-residential students (whether they would have been covered by the housing guarantee or not) may be eligible for one of these beds for the remaining part of the semester or, in some cases, the remaining academic year.  Charges for such beds will be on a pro-rated basis.  Students interested in this possibility should contact Residence Life & Housing at [email protected]

All students in University-sponsored housing are subject to the student handbook and the provisions of the University housing agreement.
