Curriculum
Students in the LLM in LIT program will learn innovative new methods for delivering legal services. Through cutting-edge coursework and hands-on training, they will acquire the knowledge and skills that the legal industry increasingly expects and demands. They can also choose from a robust menu of courses that explore the modern business of law and specific areas of technology at our downtown Boston campus and online.
LLM in LIT students must complete 24 credits of required and elective course work.
Required Courses
Students will complete 7 required credits:
- Twenty-First Century Legal Profession (2 Credits)
- Process Improvement and Legal Project Management (2 Credits); and
- One (1) course from the following options:
- Generative AI and the Delivery of Legal Services (3 Credits)
- Legal Tech: Small Firm (3 Credits)
Law & Technology Elective Course Requirements
Students must complete 10 credits from this course list:
- The Law of Artificial Intelligence (3 credits)
- E-Discovery Law (2 Credits)
- Emerging AI Regulatory Frameworks (2 Credits)
- Emerging Issues in Law, Information Technology and Transnational Business (2 Credits)
- Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, and the Law (1 Credit)
- Online Dispute Resolution (2 Credits)
- Privacy/Data Security Requirements (3 Credits)
- Digital Evidence (2 Credits)
- Race, Ethical AI, and Cyber Civil Rights (2 Credits)
Innovative Approaches Elective Course Requirements
Students must complete 7 credits from this course list:
- One (1) course from the following options:
- Decision Making and Choice Management (3 Credits)
- Design Thinking for Lawyers & Business Professionals (3 Credits)
- Four (4) additional credits from the following list:
- Business of Practice: Hit the Ground Running (2 Credits)
