Internships
Once you have been offered an internship, you must submit an internship approval request via Workday [PDF].
If you are an international student you are strongly encouraged to have a conversation with the International Student Services Office to make sure you fully understand the parameters of your visa status and completing an internship. Learn more about Employment Authorizations (OPT vs. CPT).
Non-credit internship: International students approved for an internship are enrolled in SBS 920 (0-credits) .In order to be considered for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) students must receive approval from the International Student Services Office as well as their advisor.
For-credit internship:
- For MBA, MSF, MSBA, and MSM students students, internships for credit can be completed within the elective portion of their program.
- MPA students only: The Internship course, PAD 859, is designed for students with little or no public service experience. If you have no public administration work experience, you’ll be required to take PAD 859.
- MHA students only: Students without professional experience in the U.S. healthcare system are required to do an internship; HLTH 885. For more information on internships, please contact the Healthcare Administration Programs Office.
