College access initiatives help students from underrepresented backgrounds access higher education opportunities. These initiatives include programs that help students prepare for college and create partnerships between area high schools and universities.
The Nathan Miller Scholars Program promotes access to Suffolk University for deserving students from the Boston Public Schools. It is a monthly non-credit enrichment seminar that takes place during participants’ first year at the University.
Recipients are awarded full-tuition scholarships for eight consecutive semesters, provided that scholars maintain a GPA of 2.8 or above and attend first-year programming.

BPS
Suffolk University, in partnership with the Boston Public Schools, has an agreement allowing students to take dual enrollment courses on campus during the fall and spring of their junior and senior year. Students must apply to participate, have at least a 2.5 and above high school GPA, and are limited to one course per term.

Success Boston is Boston’s citywide college completion initiative. Together, the Boston Foundation, the Boston Public Schools (BPS), the City of Boston, and 37 area nonprofit partners and higher education institutions, including Suffolk University, are working to double the college completion rate for students from the BPS.
