The purpose of this survey is to get a better understanding of community members’ perspectives on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) at Suffolk today. All current students, faculty, and staff are strongly encouraged to participate in the survey.

What is a climate survey?
This is an important opportunity to provide feedback about your experiences with DEI at Suffolk. Data from the survey will help us measure the University’s strengths and weaknesses in these areas and determine how we can better deliver on our commitment to access and opportunity.
Am I required to take this survey?
No. Your participation is voluntary and will have no bearing on grades, status, or employment.
How will I take this survey?
You should have received an invitation at your Suffolk email address from our partner Viewfinder® Campus Climate Surveys containing a link to the survey that is unique to you.
What do I do if I haven’t received an email invitation to complete the survey?
The email is coming from our campus partner, Viewfinder®. If you have not received this email, please check your spam/junk and deleted items folders. If the message is not in one of those folders, please email the Office of Institutional Research Assessment (OIRA) to report that your email has not been received.
How long will it take to complete the survey?
The survey should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
Do I have to complete the survey in one sitting?
No. The survey can be completed in one sitting, or you can stop when you need to and return later to finish it. Your answers will be saved as you move through the survey. Just be sure to complete the survey before it closes on Friday, March 24, 2023, and please note the once you click the “Done” button at the end of the survey, you will no longer be able to re-enter to make any changes.
Is the survey confidential?
Yes. Your responses are confidential. No individual data will be reported to Suffolk University, only aggregated data.
How is confidentiality for survey respondents ensured?
Viewfinder® Campus Climate Surveys makes every attempt to ensure the confidentiality of the data collected in the following ways:
- Survey data is collected and maintained on a secure server.
- No person except for employees of Campus Climate Surveys, LLC will have access to the online account where data is collected and stored.
- The collected, aggregated data is only shared with designated Suffolk University employees.
- No identifiers are attached to individual survey responses, therefore, the only way for an individual response to not be anonymous is if someone self-identifies.
- Survey participants may choose to answer some or all questions included in the survey.
Who is administering the survey?
Viewfinder®, a third-party vendor, is distributing the Climate Survey to all faculty, staff, administrators, and students. Viewfinder® Campus Climate Surveys are designed to help colleges and universities measure and assess both their strengths and weaknesses around diversity and inclusion efforts for students, faculty, staff, and administrators. They provide insight into what shapes the experiences and perceptions of diverse individuals on campus to help institutions create an environment where everyone feels safe, welcome, valued, and respected.

All surveys were reviewed for accessibility, to ensure everyone has equal access to the survey content.
