Resources for Veterans
Fee Waiver for Active Military & Military Veterans
At Suffolk, we deeply appreciate the service and sacrifices of our military members and veterans. To support those who have served, we are proud to offer an application fee waiver to all active-duty military personnel and military veterans.
If you are eligible, be sure to indicate this when prompted during the application process. When asked about a fee waiver, select "Yes" and choose the option for "Waiver for US Veteran of Armed Services" to ensure your application fee is waived.
Advanced Credit & Joint Services Transcript
Suffolk University accepts transfer credit from a variety of sources, including previous college coursework, high school dual enrollment programs, and military training documented on a Joint Services Transcript (JST). Our goal is to help students make the most of their prior academic experience by applying eligible credits toward their degree.
To qualify for transfer credit, courses must be completed at a regionally accredited institution. For students who have attended international institutions, coursework must be recognized by the country’s Ministry of Education. In some cases, international students may need to have their academic credentials evaluated by a professional service to determine eligibility.
Suffolk awards transfer credit for courses in which a grade of C- or higher was earned. All transfer students must complete at least 45 semester hours at Suffolk, including the final 30 credits. Students enrolled in the Sawyer Business School must complete at least 50 percent of their business-related credit hours at Suffolk.
Undergraduate applicants with military coursework should submit an official Joint Services Transcript (JST) to the Office of Undergraduate Admission for evaluation. If approved, students will receive a transfer credit evaluation detailing how their prior coursework applies to their Suffolk program.
For more information on transfer credit policies and the evaluation process, students are encouraged to contact the Office of Undergraduate Admission.
