My adventure as an international student began in August 2018 and will sadly now come to an end. Attending college in the United States—at not just any institution, but Suffolk—was a dream come true. At Suffolk, I was able to obtain more than just a diploma; I was able to create memories, form meaningful friendships, and have life-changing experiences.
Looking back on my four years here, I will be eternally thankful for the experiences that have helped me grow as a student leader. College is the time to step out of our comfort zones, and I did. At Suffolk, I have been offered multiple opportunities to lead, whether on in-class projects or outside my classes as a teaching assistant or as a delegate in Washington, DC, at the National Model United Nations with the Suffolk MUN club and lately as vice president of the FintechWomen SU Chapter. Leading, to me, means helping others achieve their goals. I believe you don’t necessarily need an official title to do that. I enjoy helping, and I will continue to do so in any way I can. Working as a TA and giving lectures in front of students for the first time, traveling to DC for my first Model UN, as well as cofounding the first student chapter of FintechWomen with my best friend are among my most precious memories.
Thank you, Suffolk! It was a time for learning, self-discovery, and making friends! You helped me discover my capabilities, overcome my flaws, and have trust in myself.
