I was born and raised in East Boston, so Suffolk University was in my backyard. I didn’t know the significant impact this University would have on various aspects of my life. I still remember the day: coming home from East Boston High School and opening my acceptance letter to be informed I was selected as a Nathan Miller Scholar at Suffolk.
During my time at Suffolk, I was pushed to question the status quo while learning from professors with strong professional experience in the classes they taught. I'm now lucky to call a number of these professors my mentors.
Through guidance from these mentors and Suffolk University's Career Development Center, I was able to secure multiple internships and career opportunities. At Hannover Re, I was selected as one of five young professionals representing the U.S. in a global entrepreneurial competition in Germany focused on digital disruption in the reinsurance industry. I also gained experience at Energetic Insurance, an insurtech start-up in the Boston area developing a nascent product for the commercial and industrial solar market; and at Outcome Capital, a specialized investment bank Boston.
I credit Suffolk and the amazing community it fosters with assisting in my transformation from an inexperienced freshman to a young professional recently hired as Energetic Insurance’s first full-time employee.
