Research Assistance Program

Suffolk University's College of Arts & Sciences Faculty Research Assistance Program (FRAP) provides up to 10 hours each week of research assistance to full-time CAS faculty members. The program is intended explicitly to support scholarly research in the College. RA activities must relate directly to specific research projects, as outlined in the FRAP application.

The review and award process is competitive. Application information and procedures are sent to all full-time faculty in December of each academic year with award notifications prior to April 1.

Descriptions of RA positions are advertised on the Financial Services website. Interested students apply directly to the sponsoring faculty member who is responsible for interviewing candidates to ensure appropriate qualifications for the proposed project. There must be a clear separation between the paid RA work for the faculty research project and any academic project for which the student may be earning academic credit. The RA award is based on a 10-hour per week commitment for 15 weeks during the fall semester and 15 weeks during the spring semester.
