Biography
Dr. Laurie Levesque’s research interests fall into two areas, one of which is developing teaching tools, instructional cases, and classroom activities. The other is scholarship on employee voice and emergent processes such as new organizational roles, psychological contracts, and new hire socialization. These two streams intersect with her current work on classroom-as-organization simulations and the facilitation skills and approaches that enhance simulation as a learning methodology.
Professor Levesque recently published a book on Facilitating Simulations and edited a book of business teaching cases. Her articles have appeared in Management Teaching Review, The CASE Journal, The Case Research Journal, Simulation and Gaming, Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, Human Relations, Journal of Management, Human Resource Management Journal, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, and Career Development International.
Professor Levesque previously served as the Program Director of the Master in Management and Organizational Leadership program. Prior to that she was Associate Dean overseeing the BSBA degree. She has led, co-led, or served on teams and task forces over her 24 years at Suffolk that resulted in new curricula and gen-ed requirements, enhanced course offerings, minors, co-curricular and career programming, new student organizations, and instructor professional development.
