Biography

Dr. Laurie Levesque’s research interests fall into two areas, one of which is scholarship on emergent processes, such as new organizational roles, psychological contracts, socialization of new hires, and shared cognition. The other focus is on developing teaching tools, instructional cases, and classroom activities. These two streams intersect with her current work on Classroom-as-Organization simulation and the facilitation skills and approaches that enhance simulation as a learning methodology.

Her publications appeared in Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, Human Relations, Journal of Management, Human Resource Management Journal, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, and Career Development International and in The Case Research Journal, The CASE Journal, Management Teaching Review, and Simulation and Gaming.

She is currently the Program Director of the Master in Management and Organizational Leadership program. She also serves on the editorial board of International Journal of Instructional Cases and is an ad hoc peer reviewer for several journals. She previously served as an Associate Dean overseeing the BSBA. She led, co-led, or served on teams and task forces over her 20 years at Suffolk that resulted in new curricula and gen-ed requirements, enhanced course offerings, minors, co-curricular and career programming, new student organizations, and instructor professional development.
