Biography

Professor Liane Czirjak is a highly dedicated business and communications professional (teaching over 15+ years). She brings her long-term experience of a successful career managing brands, people, technology, marketing programs, and communications in both business and nonprofit to the academic world.

She is a Senior Instructor and is the Coordinator of the SBS Business Communications Program. Her most current efforts at Suffolk have focused on First-Year curriculum development, retention, advising, and research. Alongside her ongoing teaching and curriculum development, Professor Czirjak founded and manages the Business Communications Teaching Assistant program, supporting about 450 students annually.

Skilled in cross-cultural communication and innovative curriculum and program development, Professor Czirjak values participation in collaborative cross-departmental projects and strategic initiatives. She uses practical and innovative methods to push her students to excel at team-based and experiential learning, both in the short-term (classroom) as well as for later (in future careers). She successfully and creatively integrates her extensive business knowledge into the classroom, incorporating emerging technology and other new initiatives. And yes, she enjoys a good classroom debate.

Professor Czirjak’s business career includes leadership roles in consumer products, consumer electronics, entertainment, food, market research, and non-profit industries as well as several entrepreneurial efforts. Outside of her higher-ed work, she continues her consulting practice with select private business clients and venture capital firms. She also guides college-bound high school students, both privately and in partnership with local educational systems. She is also active with non-profit volunteer work in her home state of Rhode Island.
