Dr. Áine Lorié’s research focuses on the intersection of empathy and culture in organizational settings, with a particular interest in nonverbal communication. She started at Suffolk University Sawyer Business School in 2019 teaching organizational behavior and leadership. Dr. Lorié also holds a research position in the Empathy and Relational Science Program at Massachusetts General Hospital. She has published several articles on interpersonal and empathic communication in cross-cultural clinical encounters. She also assisted to develop a multimedia instructional video to aid providers in communicating with the families of potential organ donors. Currently Dr. Lorié would like to explore the benefits of empathy, emotional intelligence and positive psychology for teams and individuals in the workforce.
