Internships & Careers
The study of philosophy requires logic, critical thinking, reasoning, and sharp analytical skills--all of which are valuable in any profession. Our graduates have gone on to careers in business, journalism, politics, academia, research, medicine, and law.
Internships
Academic and non-credit internships are available. Both the Philosophy Department and the Career Development Center can help you find an internship. Recently, students have interned at:
- Action for Boston Community Development
- New England Center for Homeless Veterans
- Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office
- Senator John Kerry’s Office
- Jewish Vocational Services
- Police Accountability Project
Careers
Our students also find success post-graduation. Recent graduates include a research coordinator at Massachusetts General Hospital and the co-founder of a company that finances sustainable energy projects. Others are pursing graduate study at Case Western Reserve School of Law, St. John’s University, and Cornell University, to name a few.
