Student Organizations
The Biology Department supports four student organizations: the Health Careers Club, the American Society of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry (ASBMB), the Public Health and Nutrition Club, and the Chi Kappa Chapter of the Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honor Society. These four organizations give biology students opportunities to work closely with faculty while engaging in research that benefits the department and the greater Suffolk community.
The American Society of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry (ASBMB) Student Chapter
The American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) Student Chapter is part of a national community of undergraduate students and faculty members that promote the advancement of biochemistry and molecular biology research, education and science outreach. Members of the Suffolk ASBMB group regularly participate in seminar events, scientific meetings and outreach activities in the community. The Suffolk ASBMB student chapter is open to all interested students.
