  • Professor Alexis Montecinos has been a macroeconomics advisor for the government of Chile and is currently member of two commissions in the Chilean Senate.
  • Professor Sokol Celo maintains a close relationship with Co-Plan, Institute for Habitat Development (NGO based in Albania) as the chairman of the Advisory Board until June 2018 and as a strategic collaborator and advisor and member of the Advisory Board after that.
  • Professor Cristian Chelariu has been an Advisory Board member for the Association of Romanians in New England (ARNE), a cultural not-for-profit organization since 2016.
  • Dean Amy Zeng serves on the International Advisory Board of Zagreb’s Faculty of Economics and Business since 2020. In addition, she mentored Hunan University School of Business for their initial AACSB accreditation, which they were accredited successfully in 2021, and has been mentoring East China Normal University Faculty of Economics and Management and Beijing Normal University School of Business for their initial AACSB accreditation.
  • Dean Zeng is serving on the Peer Review Team for the initial AACSB accreditation review visit for the University of Pannonia in Hungary in mid-November, 2024.

Teaching

Faculty Headshot imageJane Zhu’s partnership with Shanghai University of International Business and Economics is a vital component of her Global Product Innovation course in Boston.

Her students work virtually throughout a semester with students in China to complete consulting projects for business clients. Communicating on Wechat, emails, and Zoom calls, students collaborate across cultural boundaries and time zones to learn how user needs and innovation practices vary around the world.

As a highly regarded speaker, Aroon has been invited to give lectures around the world on topics such as e-government, public management, comparative public administration, state capacity, and public communication. Additionally, he recently taught a course on public sector technology during a summer session at Hong Kong Baptist University.

Faculty Headshot imageCarlos Rufin, a senior associate at the Institute for International Urban Development, has served as a visiting scholar at Pontifícia Universidade Católica in Rio de Janeiro and Harbin Engineering University in Harbin, China.

Additionally, he has taught at ESAN Business School in Lima, Peru, and Instituto de Empresa Business School in Madrid.

 

Professional Engagement 

Jodi Detjen

Associate Dean of Innovative Education and Programs, Executive Director of the MBA Program, and Associate Professor of Practice Jodi Detjen worked with a professor from the Goa Institute of Management to write a book chapter on managing corruption in India.

Ric Thomas

Before he joined Suffolk University as an Instructor in 2019, Ric Thomas was the global head of investment strategy and research for State Street Global Advisors in Boston, after serving as the global head of quantitative equity portfolio management. Currently, Ric serves as a senior advisor to the World Bank, where he works with both the Disaster Risk Finance and Asset Allocation groups.
