Global Travel Seminars

There’s no substitute for experience, especially when it comes to global business. That’s why we offer Global Travel Seminars—a practical, hands-on learning experience that helps you build your resume and extend your network internationally.

You’ll get an inside look at how businesses operate abroad. You’ll spend 7-10 days visiting companies and network with high-level executives. Immersed in a new culture, you’ll also learn how to interact and communicate with people from different backgrounds. Past locations have included Italy, Israel, and China.

The International Center for Development Studies offers two exciting tracks this summer in San José

  • Spanish and Health in Latin America offers participants an immersive experience in the culture and the universal health care system of Costa Rica. In addition to classes at Universidad Latina de Costa Rica, students have the opportunity to participate in clinical rotations for intermediate-advanced Spanish speakers or social welfare community work for beginner-intermediate levels.

  • Spanish and Sustainability Practices in Costa Rica explores the environmental and societal impacts of sustainable development in a country that is famous for its eco-friendly policy and preservation. Students take classes in the capital city of San José and enjoy weekend excursions and site visits at ecological and cultural landmarks around the country.

London South Bank University, located in central London, offers a four-week study program as well as a six-week study and internship program during the summer. Course offerings include London: City of Change, Multimedia Journalism, and Shakespeare: Text and Performance.

Regent's University offers a liberal arts summer program: six-week courses beginning June 5. You'll be able to register for a maximum of two classes with course offerings in history, literature, religion, theatre, photography, and art.

The Paris School of Business offers a two-week summer program during July. You can choose between several programs [PDF], including modern and contemporary art in Paris, fashion marketing, luxury brand management, international entrepreneurship, and more.

Kedge Business School in Marseille offers four sessions of two business courses. Subjects include management, marketing, international business, and more. Students can enroll in 1-4 courses.

WHU will hold its annual European Summer Institute for international undergraduate students in 2019, “The Business, Political and Cultural Environment in Europe.” Tailored to students interested in business administration, this three-week program takes place on the beautiful premises of WHU in Vallendar from May 26 to June 14. Justus Liebig University (JLU) offers an interdisciplinary summer program with special seminars and German language courses.

American College Thessaloniki offers wonderful summer courses in English in the following disciplines:

University College Cork is holding a Summer School in Irish Studies. The program will comprise two weeks of Irish history courses and two weeks of English literature courses.

Faculty-Led Program

The Italian Journal: Illustration and Art & Architecture in the Italian Renaissance

This intensive, faculty-led six-and--half-week program focuses on interpreting the landscapes, towns, and seascapes of Italy through water-coloring and drawing en-plein-air while integrating its rich history of art and culture into a valuable educational adventure. You will explore the dramatic views and vistas of the sun-drenched Tuscan countryside: its hills, towns, royal gardens, Renaissance churches, bustling markets, piazzas, and alley-ways, all of which will be your subject matter. The outdoor studio course is combined with a course in art history, which consists of morning lectures on history and culture, for a total of seven credits.
