The Sawyer Business School Alumni Boards provide a vital link between the University and our alumni. They strengthen your relationship with the University by offering educational opportunities, professional networking, and community service.
The Business School Alumni Board represents alumni of the Sawyer Business School programs.
The board meets quarterly and consists of subcommittees that meet independently prior to each full board meeting to establish and plan programs for the Alumni Association. At the full board meetings, each chairperson reports on his/her committee’s activities.

John McDonnell (BSBA ’83) is the Sawyer Business School’s Alumni Representative to Suffolk University’s Board of Trustees.
He is the Managing Director International Tito's Handmade Vodka, where he provides innovative practical solutions to the challenges of strategic planning, routes to market, and the development of business and marketing plans. Previously, McDonnell served as the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Patrón Spirits, where he oversaw the company’s daily operations, strategic media and advertising plans, and its product portfolio.
He shares his expertise with our students by giving guest lectures on brand marketing. He brings insights from his many years spent marketing liquor brands in Greater China, and highlights the creative techniques brands must use to signal their authenticity to consumers.
Find out how McDonnell protects his products from brand piracy overseas in our 2011 Suffolk Business Magazine.
