The Suffolk University Gallery will become an interactive maker space for drawing and thinking during the Drawing = Thinking event and exhibit, running Nov. 5, 2015, through Jan. 22, 2016, with a reception and drawing workshop to be held from 5:30–7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5.

Drawing = Thinking offers demos and workshops that give students and the general public the chance to experience the many ways that drawing and thinking overlap. The products of these hands-on events will contribute to a growing exhibit in the gallery space through January.

The programming runs in tandem with Cannot Be Described in Words: Drawing/Daring, at the Art Complex Museum in Duxbury, Massachusetts, and was conceived as a response to that exhibit. The Cannot Be Described in Words artists share a sense of daring and explore new approaches, scale, and media that expand the definition of drawing. Four faculty from Suffolk’s New England School of Art & Design—Ilona Anderson, Audrey Goldstein, Randal Thurston, and Debra Weisberg—are among the 11 artists participating in that exhibit.

The exhibits are curated by Deborah Davidson.
