Taylor Miranda Named All-Region Selection for Women's Soccer

Senior forward Taylor Miranda of the women's soccer team was honored as a second team All-Region selection by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for the 2013 season.

Miranda was the Rams' leading goal scorer with 15 strikes on the year.

She was tied as second highest scorer within the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), which made her a second team All-Conference selection.

She was one of only 14 players in the New England region to score at least 15 goals this past season, and her 1.65-points-per-game average ranked her 20th among all NCAA Division-III Women's Soccer players in the New England region.

She finishes a four-year career that saw her score 38 goals for the Rams in 59 games. Her 87 total points are the second most by a player in program history.

During her freshman campaign in 2010, Miranda was named GNAC's Offensive Player of the Year as she tallied 21 strikes on the season, and set the conference record for 17 goals in conference games. She has scored nine game-winning goals in four seasons.

Suffolk also received the following NSCAA team awards:

  • Team Academic Award, given to a team with a 3.0 grade-point average or above. The Women's Soccer team posted a 3.37 team GPA in 2012.
  • Bronze Award for Team Ethics/Sportsmanship, an award given to a team that receives no red cards  and only six to 10 yellow causations during its season.
