As the seventh-largest law school by enrollment, Suffolk Law has an expansive curriculum that combines a strong academic foundation with expertise in an array of specialty areas. Your education includes hands-on learning programs, nationally known faculty and actual law practitioners who bridge theory with practice to prepare students for working in the 21st century.

The Boston Advantage

As the only university in downtown Boston, we provide unique access to the city’s cultural and professional offerings.

Imagine being just steps away from internship and clerkship opportunities at the State House, in  federal and state courts, and major law firms.

Our location brings the real world into your classroom. Learn the law from professors who are actual practitioners. Join hands-on clinical programs just steps from the law school doors that prepare students for real world legal practice.

Learn by Doing

Get hands-on experience in Suffolk Law’s legal clinics, which have been ranked in the top 25 for five years running. In clinics, students practice law under the close supervision of experienced professors. Topics range from Education Advocacy to Intellectual Property, Investor Advocacy to Juvenile Justice and Housing.

Through its impressive alumni network, Suffolk Law places 100 law students in state judicial internships as early as the summer following first year.

Personal Support

Suffolk Law faculty are hands-on practitioners. In an era of ivory-tower law scholarship, our faculty are academics within a profession—working and teaching the key legal issues of our time.

Suffolk Law commits to its students. The school offers strong academic support programs, abiding allegiance to its diverse student body, and a faculty and administration dedicated to teaching and to placing students in coveted jobs and internships.

A Global Mindset

The future of law is global—and Suffolk Law is on it. With partnerships in Austria, Germany, Sweden, Mexico, and Canada, Suffolk Law places students in internships, jobs, NGOs, and study-abroad programs throughout the world.

Ready to Practice

Suffolk Law students routinely excel in prestigious moot-court competitions, publish cutting-edge scholarship in every legal discipline, ensure access to justice through their public service work, and hone their craft in clinics, jobs, and internships not only in Boston, but across the country and around the world. Students graduate with solid grounding in both legal theory and in legal practice.

Suffolk Law's student body comes from a diverse range of backgrounds, from PhDs to law enforcement officers. Because students take independent paths to Suffolk Law, they bring a melting pot of  experiences and points of view into the classroom.
