This fall, Suffolk Law launched the I Am a Suffolk Lawyer microsite, asking a range of Suffolk Law graduates to share insights into their law school experience and how it shaped their legal passions. The Massachusetts House Speaker, a sports agent, a tribal lawyer and many more engaged alumni explain how the school’s approach shaped their careers.
On the site, Setti Warren ’07, mayor of Newton, MA, (in photo above) and a graduate of the evening program, notes the school’s practical, real-world approach: “Suffolk is the perfect place for career-minded people like myself—the professors and students bring such a real-world element into the classroom—and the conversation and learning that go on inside and outside the classroom are so incredibly valuable.”
Tribal Lawyer Javier I. Kinney (above) remarks on the warmth of Suffolk Law alumni network: “The Suffolk alumni network is friendly, effective, and supportive because of the attorneys and legal professionals in California, the nation and around the world. I know I can count on my colleagues and friends not only to assist me in professional matters, but welcome me if I ever need a place to stay in my travels.”
Law School Dean Camille A. Nelson recently commented on the genesis of the I Am a Suffolk Lawyer microsite project: “We recognize that not every student considering Suffolk Law will have a chance to hear directly from our alumni about the school’s rigorous, hands-on approach and how the Suffolk Law experience changed their lives. The digital realm gives our graduates a chance to tell their stories and offers prospective students a genuine sense of what makes our school unique.”
