One of the initiatives that the Juvenile Justice Center focuses on is improving interactions between police and youth in Boston and ensuring that arrest is always a matter of last resort for youth. As a result of experiences of the Center's attorneys and clients with police, the Center has initiated a training program, New Approaches to Police/Youth Interactions. The Training provides officers insight into the cultural factors influencing youth behavior and police interactions, as well as description of adolescent behavior from psychological and neuroscience pespectives.
