What is Office 365?
Office 365 is a communication and collaboration service hosted by Microsoft. All Suffolk University registered students have access to the Microsoft Office 365 cloud service, which provides 50 Gigabytes (GB) of email storage space online.

How do I access my Office 365 account?
Go to: https://umail.suffolk.edu
Login using your Suffolk University username and password.
When will the switch to the @su.suffolk.edu take place?
Migration for students will begin in March. Breakdown will be by school and/or year and students will be notified with specific dates when their migration begins. The migration for all students will take a few months.
I read my email on my phone, will I need to change my settings?
Yes, to regain access to your account on your phone: Go to Mail settings and remove your current account.
Click: Add Account
Type your password and click next
If you are asked for additional information, enter outlook.office365.com in the Server field.
Why is my email account being migrated to Office 365?
To provide a better collaboration tool as well as increased email and file space
Is the 50 gigabytes of email storage part of the 1 terabyte of One drive of storage?
The 50 GB is NOT a part of the one terabyte space OneDrive storage.
Will the migration affect the Suffolk emails I get through Blackboard?
The migration will not affect Blackboard or Portal emails
Do I need to backup my email
There is no need to backup anything. All email will be migrated to the new account.
How long will my @suffolk.edu email account be active?
1 year from migration
Will this affect my access to MySuffolk/Campus Cruiser, Blackboard or the wireless?
MySuffolk/Campus Cruiser, Blackboard, wireless access and other applications will not be affected. They will be updated to the new @su.suffolk.edu address plus the @suffolk.edu will be around for a year, but your username will not change for these services.
I have all of my @suffolk.edu emails setup to forward to my personal email address. Will I need to change anything in my email settings to ensure this continues?

What's the difference between Microsoft Office installed on my computer and Office 365?
Microsoft Office is a productivity suite that includes common desktop applications like Word and Excel. "Office 365” refers to a subscription-based service that includes access to Microsoft Office applications plus other services that are enabled over the Internet, such as OneDrive. Office 365 is a cloud-based service that allows access to these features from anywhere and on many devices.
Microsoft Office installed on your computer is compatible with Office 365.
Is the version of Microsoft Office on my computer compatible with Office 365?
Do I need Microsoft Office to use the other Office 365 features like OneDrive or Office Online?
No. If you have Microsoft Office 2013 ProPlus installed, you can save files directly from Office applications to your OneDrive library. However, you do not need Microsoft Office to use OneDrive, or Office Online
Does Office 365 work on Mac OS X?
Yes. Accessing Office 365 will work with any supported browser on Mac OS X.
Can I access Office 365 from off campus?
Will I still have access to Microsoft Office after I leave Suffolk University?
No. After you leave Suffolk University, your Office 365 subscription, including Microsoft Office, will expire. At that point, you could purchase a subscription.

I am a full-time employee and a part-time student at Suffolk. What will happen to my account?
All employee accounts will not be migrated to Office 365 regardless of dual status.
As a Business School student will I still have access to my Home Folders?
What impact will it have on the accounts of graduates?
There will not be any impact. The account will move to Alumni status after graduation.
Do Alumni still have accounts?
Yes, but if an account has not been logged into after one year it will be disabled.
