Information Technology Services has implemented a VDI service or Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. VDI desktops will allow all faculty and students the ability to access required applications on all machines. More importantly, students will have the ability to work offsite at no additional cost.
Currently we have 2 separate VDI desktops:
- General University use
- Art & Design enrolled students
Both VDI desktops can be accessed from a variety of devices, including smart phones, tablets, laptops and regular desktops. You can access the VDI on and off campus, from anywhere provided there is internet connectivity.
To use our VDI service you can access it in two ways, by downloading the VMware Horizon Client or via HTML (for offsite use only) access. HTML access is NOT recommended for resource intensive applications, ie: Autocad
To Download or access via HTML, go to: desktop.suffolk.edu
