• Political Research Center

Since its inception in 2002, the Suffolk University Political Research Center (SUPRC) has established itself as one of the premier research centers in the political arena. Over the past three years, the SUPRC has delivered precise and timely calls in every field survey it has taken. The Research Center has polled political races in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Virginia, Los Angeles, and New York.

In 2002, the SUPRC was the only political research center in the region to use its successful polling to correctly predict the outcomes of the Massachusetts Democratic Primary and Final Election in percentage and actual votes! In 2004, the SUPRC topped that achievement by correctly predicting the outcome of the New Hampshire Primary by publicly stating the numbers and margins on C-SPAN the night before the primary.

The SUPRC is proud that it was the first research center to make all of the demographic cross-tabulations for every poll available at no cost. The SUPRC posts on its web site all archived polls including marginals, charts, press releases, cross-tabulation analyses and summary information.

In January of 2005, the SUPRC national poll findings were cited and quoted by Tim Russert on “Meet the Press” in an interview with John Kerry about his future political aspirations.

During 2006, WHDH-TV 7News and Suffolk University continued their exclusive partnership by conducting a series of accurate polls throughout the Gubernatorial Primary and General elections in 2006.  On November 6th - the day before the General election - the SUPRC predicted on Channel 7 NEWS that Deval Patrick would win by 21% or "about 500,000 votes."  Patrick won by 22% or 450,258 votes.

7NEWS and the SUPRC will continue their successful partnership through 2008 to bring real-time in depth analysis of voter attitudes and trends for the Presidential election on November 4, 2008.

Suffolk University Professor David Paleologos, political pollster and director of the University’s Political Research Center, serves the role of expert political analyst on coverage of 7News-Suffolk University political polling results.

The polls will deliver on-air and on-line results as well as comprehensive voter profiles. This unique partnership will build on the momentum generated from the polling relationship developed by 7News and Suffolk University, which commenced in 2002.

All on-line results will appear on this web site, so please bookmark this page for easy access to these exciting polls.
