Resident Assistants (RAs) are integral members of the Residence Life & Housing (RLH) team. Their primary goal is to support create and maintain a thriving community in the residence halls.

To achieve this goal, RAs work as a team and serve as a role model to other students.  Some of their key responsibilities are:

  • Community Development
  • Peer Advising
  • Educational Programming 
  • Safety/ Policy Confrontation.

Being a RA provides students with the opportunity to develop valuable leadership and communication skills, shape Suffolk’s residential environment and make friendships that will last a lifetime.

Overview of the RA Application Process

Residence Life & Housing believes that the RA position is one of the most crucial student leadership positions within the University. Because of this, we ask that students complete a rigorous application process that includes submitting required materials and a group and individual interview.
