Excellence in Service
Professor of Marketing Liz Wilson was awarded for her excellence in service. She has served on the faculty senate and several committees for her department, the Sawyer Business School, and Suffolk University.
“Her contributions to Suffolk are staggering. She is constantly looking for ways to give back to the University, and I applaud her efforts," Dean Behnam said.
Excellence in Teaching
Assistant Professor of Accounting Tracey Riley, was recognized for her excellence in teaching.
“There’s no question that Tracey is dedicated to her students,” said Dean Behnam. He went on to share several praises from her students.
“Professor Riley is the best. She’s supportive, energetic, and knows how to make accounting interesting," one student said.
Another said: “Professor Riley was by far the best professor I’ve had at Suffolk. I wish she taught all the accounting classes!”
Excellence in Research
The third award went to Professor of Information System and Operations Management Arnold Kamis for excellence in research. Professor Kamis specializes in information technology strategy, online user behavior, mass health information systems, and business analytics.
His research has been published in several prestigious journals, including International Journal of Statistics & Economics, Information Systems Frontiers, and the Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association.
Currently, Professor Kamis and his colleague Professor Dominic Thomas are applying for a $10 million grant to study health information systems.
Excellence in Administrative Service
Associate Director of the Office of Technology Management Jennifer Chin received the Dean’s award for excellent administrative service.
“We always expect our technology to work. But that's not always the reality. Jennifer is truly committed to providing the best technological service possible, and she always does so with a smile and friendly attitude," Behnam said.
