As stated by the United Nations, “sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” From both a public policy perspective and a business perspective, the need to support growth in domestic and global economies, while significantly reducing negative social and economic costs, can be achieved with innovative strategies that integrate environmental, economic, and social values in decision making.

The Center for Global Business Ethics & Law Annual Sustainability Award recognizes Suffolk alumni, individuals, groups, and institutions that have been exemplary leaders and make sustainability work in the marketplace.

The selection for the award is made following a nominations process.
