Suffolk University’s Global MBA alumni entered the program with one goal in mind: to increase their career success. Today they are working for example, at Lehman Brothers in London; Coca-Cola in Toronto; Teradyne Corporation, Bank of America, Fidelity Investments, and Monster Worldwide. Ask them why they entered the Suffolk Global MBA and they will tell you: 1) the program provides exceptional opportunities for first-hand global business experience; and 2) to concentrate in international finance or international marketing which translates to a functional expertise needed by today’s employers.
Suffolk’s Global MBA is a specialized MBA degree designed for individuals with an interest in international business. Complete the program full-time in 10 to 16 months, or part-time in 16 to 28 months.
Experience the realities of international business first-hand in a one-week travel seminar in one of five countries. 2008-09 destinations will include China, England, Germany, India and Viet Nam. Gain first-hand knowledge of current topics in global business as you study the region, meet with corporate executives, and tour multinational companies and small businesses.
Part-time Global MBAs experience the ultimate in career-relevant education as they complete a global research project in their place of business or with one of Suffolk’s corporate affiliates. Alternatively, you may complete a three-month summer internship outside your home country, perhaps at one of your company’s overseas locations. Working professionals especially enjoy the flexibility of taking classes in the evening at Suffolk’s Boston campus, conveniently located in the midst of the business, financial and government districts. Optional online classes are an added plus.
Full-time Global MBAs complete a three-month full-time internship outside their home country. Recent internships included work at the WTO in Geneva, Switzerland; Volkswagen in the UK; State Street Global; Sully Finance in Paris; Korres, a leading European natural cosmetics firm with headquarters in Athens; Merrill Lynch, and the Massachusetts Center for Trade and Investment, all in Boston. As Celine Ariaratnam, Global MBA ’05 learned, internships provide valuable opportunities to make important corporate contacts: “My internship at Coca-Cola in Toronto was amazing! It was a great learning experience and ultimately lead to a full-time job offer!”
