Frantz Pinard has been named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Basketball Rookie of the Week for the third time this season.

Pinard averaged 16 points per game in a pair of road victories for Suffolk.

The freshman guard played a major role in Suffolk’s 73-68 victory on Saturday afternoon at Rivier University, scoring scored 16 of his game-total 18 points in the second half. He nailed the go-ahead three-pointer with three minutes remaining in regulation.

Pinard also scored 14 points on Wednesday evening, an 83-77 Suffolk win over Norwich.

Pinard was named Rookie of the Week in consecutive weeks in December. He has averaged 10.9 points per game on the season, with a 12.9 average in GNAC contests.

Rams basketball holds a 7-8 overall record on the season and 4-4 mark in GNAC play.
